Baishihu (White Rock Lake) Recreation Area

Baishihu (White Rock Lake) is a strawberry-themed recreation area in the mountains of Neihu. There’s a suspension bridge, strawberry-flavored food, nice scenery, and the opportunity for strawberry picking at nearby farms from December to May. Little restaurants and cafes are setup throughout the area, and there’s some other kitschy tourist spots like a lover’s lake for visitors to see. A short walk down the hill from the suspension bridge is Washan temple, which is definitely worth a look as it offers some stunning views of Taipei city.

• Carefully walk over the bouncy, but completely safe, suspension bridge.

• Visit the heart shaped lovers lake.

• Stop at a restaurant or small cafe and sample strawberry flavored food, including strawberry sausages, ice-cream, and drinks.

• Take in the view from Couple’s tree.

• Pick strawberries at one of the nearby fields.

• After returning across the suspension bridge, walk to the nearby Washan temple, which offers beautiful views of Taipei.
