Tallulah Gorge State Park

Tallulah Falls is a series of six waterfalls cascading through Tallulah Gorge, an ancient 1,000-foot chasm carved by the Tallulah River. Tallulah Gorge State Park has overlooks, nature trails and a suspension bridge. Hike the Shortline Trail, a 3-mile paved trail following an old railroad bed.

At the dawn of the 20th century, Tallulah Falls was a bustling resort town that rivaled Niagra Falls, and people came from all over to see the waterfalls and the awesome gorge. Overlooking Tallulah Gorge, a 1,000-foot chasm carved over millions of years by the Tallulah River, is Tallulah Gorge State Park with an impressive Interpretive Center, gorge overlooks, hiking and biking trails and a suspension bridge.

Tallulah Falls is a series of six waterfalls cascading down through Tallulah Gorge. Tallulah Station offers local artworks as well as warm cups of specialty coffees and sweets, including ice cream. Numerous hiking trails are close by, including the Shortline Trail, a 3-mile paved trail following the Old Tallulah Falls Railroad Bed. Lake Tugalo and Lake Yonah both offer fishing, swimming and non-motorized boating.
